Rosa Azul
Make up for people who aren’t allowed to wear make up.
This is a major oldie but goodie project from school (!). I designed packaging for a line of cosmetics intended for a strictly natural look. The name references a conservative religious group in Mexico called “Las Mujeres de la Rosa Azul,” for whom wearing makeup is forbidden. As a result, these women embellish and stylize their hair and clothes to the max — whatever they can get away with. I found this reaction funny, interesting, a little sad, and ultimately inspiring for a meta line of make up for those who can’t wear it.
